HROOMCD027: The Barton Fink Collection is a series of tracks by Simon Mann that captures a part of his personality that is often suppressed, a darker sinister side that thrives more on shadows than light. Barton Fink is the personification of that shadow side. Each of the tracks delve into themes of personal darkness. The music was written at times when life was heavy and Simon's mood found solace in solitude. Some of the influences were his dreams, fears, insecurities and desires. It's a personal collection that captures the artist's various moods through textures of sonic layering, his own type of audio therapy. This release covers the genres of House, Techno, Ambient and Experimental electronic music.

All the tracks were recorded live in one take using a bunch of analogue synths, samplers, drum machines and effects. Post production editing was done in Ableton Live.
